+Formulated without adding Ammonia
Step 1: Mix. Put on coloring gloves and pour the ammonia-free colorant into the cream developer bottle. Place the cap back on the bottle. Point the bottle away from your face and shake vigorously until the mixture has blended completely.
Step 2: Apply. Part your hair into 4 equal sections using the applicator tip, then apply the dye one section at a time starting at your roots. Do not rub the mixture into your scalp.
Step 3: Leave in. Apply any remaining product through the rest of your hair and massage your strands gently until your hair is completely saturated. Leave it on for 25 minutes total. For resistant gray hair, add 10 more minutes. For blonde shades, add an extra 20 minutes to the total processing time.
Step 4: Rinse. Put your gloves back on and gently rinse your hair with warm water until the water runs clear.
Step 5: Condition. Apply the ultra-hydrating cream conditioner after color application. Leave on for 3 minutes and then rinse with warm water.

"I have been using Revlon color silk and ultra light ash blonde for years! The more recent addition of the bond repair complex has unfortunately led to me no longer purchasing this color. I have occasionally been able to find the old version and that is what I have been buying. This new version does not work the same, the color doesn't come out the same, and it doesn't last as long. It seems to either fade or rinse out."
"Do not use the vibrant violet #38 unless you want to end up with black hair! I followed the instructions, and the result was a completely black hair. There is no vibrant violet or shade."
"I love this product and have used it for years. Complete gray coverage, safe for my hair, rinses easily from my skin, and the conditioner is the best anywhere."
"I have been using Revlon products for the better part of 20 years, same color, same everything the ‘blue black’ color. Over the last year or so, each time I dye my hair, I have a crazy reaction behind my ears and they itch and swell up and make my lymph nodes swell- at first I thought it was due to hormones shifting from my pregnancy when I was unaware of my pregnancy at first, but this has happened the two times since I had my baby and I’m struggling to wrap my head around it. Did Revlon change their formula? I love the color and how my hair feels after but this itch and burning behind my ears is horrid. I think I may need to find a new favorite hair color which makes me sad after over 20 years. Please if you did—- change the formula back!!! I know I’m not alone in this I’ve seen some horrible stories worse than mine on Reddit and TikTok."
"Overall im pretty happy with the results. It covered my grays nicely and the coverage is even and rich. The smell was a little intense but my hair was super soft after I rinsed it out, and it went on very easily. I’m not usually a boxed dye user but it’s definitely a good alternative!"
"dont buy this the color doesnt turn out how it looks on the box, i bought dark blonde and my hair turned GREY? I had almost platinum blonde hair before this."
"I love dying, my hair red. The shade always makes me happy. But the best value is the conditioner they add in in every box. Somehow it always makes my hair so soft. "
"My husband was looking for a hair dye that would effectively cover gray hair. He initially tried a men's hair dye, but the results were unsatisfactory. I suggested that he try Revlon and encouraged him to trust the process. He took my advice, and now he is very happy with the results."
"The coverage is amazing! I love how little time it takes to complete and has very little mess like issues. The texture feels amazing and the instructions are clear!"
