NYFW Spring/Summer 2014

Redefine gorgeous with glam new looks from Global Artistic Director Gucci Westman and fashion’s most inspiring designers.

RAG & BONE

Rag & Bone’s look was the picture of fashion innovation. “This is the first time Rag & Bone has ever done a lip look like this. We wanted to go with a bold lip because it fit so well with the clothes this season. The lip color was inspired by the World Cup in Brazil,” said Westman.  “And the eye look was inspired by what your eyes might look like in the morning after going to bed with your makeup on.” Eyes and lips dared to be different with Revlon ColorStay™ Liquid Eyeliner in Black, new Revlon ColorStay Shadowlinks™ in Charcoal, Onyx and Cocoa (applied then wiped off), and new Revlon ColorBurst™ Matte Balm in Mischievous.

Marchesa

Westman’s inspiration for the Marchesa show was gothic romance. “The clothes are so pretty and I wanted to do something to complement the overall look but still be unique and a little cheeky,” said Westman. Featured products included new Revlon PhotoReady Skinlights™ Face Illuminator in Bare Light and Revlon ColorStay Shadowlinks™ in Charcoal.

OSCAR DE LA RENTA

Oscar de la Renta’s collection embraced a 50’s vibe emanating an iconic, polished beauty. Westman paired pink and coral tones with soft, luminous skin and a subtle, purple and brown eye. “On the lips,” said Westman, “I mixed several peach shades and topped it with gloss, which is easy for everyone to wear.” Go-to Revlon products included new Revlon® Powder Blush in Softspoken Pink and Matte Haute Pink, PhotoReady Skinlights™ Face Illuminator in Nude, Revlon ColorStay Shadowlinks™ in Cocoa, Candy, and Plum, Revlon Lash Potion™ Volume + Length Mascara in Black, and classically shiny Revlon Super Lustrous™ Lip Gloss in Snow Pink.

J. MENDEL

At J. Mendel, Revlon Global Artistic Director Gucci Westman created a paired down look with glowing skin and a glossy red lip. New Revlon products included Revlon® Powder Blush in Classy Coral, Revlon ColorStay Shadowlinks™ in Java, and Revlon ColorBurst™ Lacquer Balm in Coy. “The eyes have a touch of metallic bronze in the socket lightened up with some creamy textures on the lid and a little mascara to finish the look,” said Westman. “For the lips, I used three deep red shades, layered them together and topped it off with a coat of gloss. I’m really feeling gloss this season.”

JONATHON SIMKHAI

Jonathan Simkhai opted for a fresh-faced, dewy look. Westman chose subtle shades of peach and brown to bring Simkhai’s vision to life. Eyes popped with new Revlon ColorStay Shadowlinks™ in Chocolate. Lips pouted perfectly with Revlon ColorBurst™ Lip Butter in Invite Only while cheeks glowed with new Revlon® Powder Blush in Mauvelous. “The inspiration for this look is all-American, sporty, and natural, yet elegant” commented Westman.

ASSEMBLY

For Assembly, Westman envisioned a minimalistic, beach inspired look with an edgy twist and pop of color: “I wanted this look to represent a really sporty, cool girl.”  Eyes were kept bare (and sunglass adorned), and a shockingly bright pink stripe was swiped across one cheek. Lips sizzled with new Revlon Super Lustrous™ Lipstick in Sultry Samba and Revlon ColorBurst™ Matte Balm in Showy. Celebrity manicurist Jin Soon Choi was inspired by the metallic copper used throughout the collection and created a graphic nail look with Revlon® Nail Enamel in Rosegold and Revlon Nail Art Moon Candy™ in Moonlit Dusk.
